Is Your House Built On A Solid Foundation?
by Nick Bishop
The world today is a fearful place to live in, and where nothing seems certain any more. One might have hoped that with all the technological advances of the last few decades, life might have become simpler, even easier, but it simply isn’t the case. Technology has made some positive contributions to society, but it has thrown up a new set of problems, for our economy and all that underpins the stability of our world is also threatened by technology.
The UK is moving nearer Brexit, the USA has an unstable President in the White House, there are insurmountable problems in the Middle East, Russia, China and Iran are coming to the fore as world powers, and austerity continues to hit the poorest, not to mention the challenges of immigration, homelessness, alcoholism and drug addiction. These are but a few of the problems that threaten the peace and stability of our world on a daily basis.
A Godless and secular world has created fears amongst people whatever their status in life. As Christians, it is our duty to bring light into this troubled world.
I would invite all those reading this and those who are afraid of the world as it is today, to make a decision for Christ. He will never leave or turn his back on you. Your problems may not disappear overnight but you will find they will become easier with the Lord’s help.
Maybe you could consider becoming involved in your local church, where you will find love, help, advice and prayer that you need.
Let us not forget that Jesus promised his followers that beyond this life there is a place where fear will be unable to harm you any more. You will have eternal life and be in God’s never-ending kingdom of love, light, righteousness and protection.
As believers in Christ, we must learn to walk in the spirit and put on the full armour of God to protect us physically, spiritually and mentally.
I will end with some reassuring scriptures from the Old and New Testament:
Deuteronomy 31:8 “He will never leave nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged”.
Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called to his purpose”.
1 John 4:18 “Perfect loves casts out all fear”.
God bless you x.
